Don’t hide from your inner pain. Dare to be seen!

Acknowledging your emotional pain and trauma and letting love invade the broken places of your heart is the doorway to breaking out of isolation, finding freedom from fear, and moving toward healthy relationships.

Sessions

Session 1

Feelings Matter

Did you know that feelings are different from emotions? And that not being able to identify what you’re feeling or ignoring your feelings can keep you living in fear? In this session, we will talk about what feelings are, how to identify them and learn how they are great indicators of what’s really happening under the surface.

Session 2

Defeated in Isolation

Professionals agree that isolation will end the healing of trauma before it has a chance to begin. In this session, we will talk about the importance of support and community and learn ways to avoid this devastating trap.

Session 3

Buried, but Not Laid to Rest

We get really good at burying our pain deep inside, but this never brings true peace because it’s still there. Pain can be the doorway to your healing once you acknowledge it. In this session, we will talk about being honest about what has happened, undoing lies we’ve believed about ourselves, and the destructive behaviors they cause, leaving us feeling alone.

Session 4

Trauma, the Real Story

Did you know that PTSD isn’t just something people experience after going to war? And that anyone can experience PTSD? In this session, we will discover the difference between trauma and PTSD, learn to recognize triggers from past trauma, and discover coping mechanisms to deal with them in a healthy manner.

Session 5

Keith and April’s Story

Our marriage crisis was not the problem; it was the effect of this underlying issue— neither of us knew who we were without having our worth validated by another person.

In this session, you will learn about the pain Keith and April experienced and their process of healing as they walk you through their journey from surviving to living the life we are all created for.

Session 6

Robin and Phyllis’ Story

Robin returned home from the first Gulf War a changed man, and he and Phyllis spent the next 20 years battling a faceless, no-named monster in their home— undiagnosed PTSD. In this session, Robin and Phyllis will bare their hearts as they share the amazing story of how God changed a 25-year, downward spiral into an example of His amazing grace and healing power.
