Healing from the Inside Out

Hi, I’m April! Life hasn’t been easy, and like many of you, I’ve faced challenges that left me feeling broken and alone. But through my journey of healing, I discovered the incredible power of safe, authentic connection—and I want to share that life-changing experience with you.

About Me

I grew up in church, striving to be a “good Christian” by following all the rules and helping others. On the surface, my life seemed perfect—I was married to Keith, had a ministry-focused life, and appeared to have it all together. But after 15 years of marriage, my world fell apart when I discovered Keith had an affair.

The betrayal left me devastated and questioning everything—my faith, my self-worth, and my identity. I realized I had been living for others’ approval instead of truly knowing and loving myself. My journey led me to confront the false beliefs I carried since childhood—beliefs like “I’m not good enough,” “Other people matter more than me,” and “My voice doesn’t matter.”

That’s when the real healing began.

Choosing to Heal

Healing wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. I began journaling, created small groups, started practicing yoga, and reconnected with my body to process trauma that had been buried for years. I discovered how unprocessed pain and false beliefs were feeding my anxiety and disconnecting me from my true self.

As I continued this journey, I experienced a deep spiritual awakening—one that invited me to question fear-based teachings and reconnect with the Divine in a new, loving, and expansive way. I began to understand that I was never disconnected with the Divine or broken or bad—I just needed space to remember who I really was.

I discovered the healing power of breathwork, body awareness, and inner child connection—and how play, finding joy, and being authentic are sacred parts of our healing. Over time, Keith joined me on this path, and together, we rebuilt our marriage on truth, connection, and unconditional love.

Creating Safe Spaces for Women

Through it all, small groups became the cornerstone of my healing. In these spaces, I found the courage to be vulnerable, share my pain, and uncover the lies that had shaped my life. There was no fixing or judgment—just listening, validation, and real connection.

In 2007, I began facilitating small groups, creating safe environments for women to process pain, grieve losses, and reconnect with their truth.

In 2020, I expanded this work online through Zoom, offering sacred space to women everywhere who are ready to heal, awaken, and find the freedom to live from their authentic selves.

SMALL GROUP TESTIMONY

"I’ve never been comfortable talking about myself or my story in a group of people, especially the parts that are dark or shameful or just seem dangerous to tell. And feelings have always been really hard for me to identify or recognize. A few years ago, I realized that people around me who knew me well often knew what I was feeling before I even knew I was feeling anything at all. I signed up for April’s small group with a lot of trepidation. I knew I was in a season where I needed to learn to talk about my story, in a safe place, and let myself be known, but I really, really didn’t want to go there. Participating in this small group was one of the best decisions of my life. I found a safe place, where I was able to learn more of how it looks to engage my story, and the stories of others, with curiosity. I was able to see and be seen, to hear and be heard and able to choose to respond or remain silent. A place where I was encouraged and equipped to deepen my own relationship with God, and learn to engage with him about the painful parts and wrestle through them with him.”
